One-Image Photography is the work of Auckland Photographer David Rowland. David started One-Image Photography with a simple concept: to create a unique imprint on life by producing photographs for clients who demand professional images that stand out from the host of competing businesses.
David has been taking photographs for over 30 years and is a photographer with an eye for detail. His ability to create images that capture the essence of the subject is by far one of the greatest abilities any photographer strives to achieve. His love of all types of landscapes, sports, and the outdoors inspired him to start capturing some of his favourite moments on film. Combining strong compositions with interesting lighting inspire David, as do the beauty and colours of nature, which he tries to capture with his camera. It is his avid hope, that his photographs, where extraordinary light, composition and the elements combine, are conveyed in his pictures with the same intensity, as they were etched into his memory. A fraction of a second captured perpetually for others to enjoy.
Within David’s portfolio, one can find a variety of images that span many fields of photography. David shoots commercial, events and editorial, architecture, sport and portraits. Using creative angles and techniques, he transforms pictures into unique and beautiful photographs. His work has been published worldwide including the United Kingdom, Europe, China, Russia and New Zealand.
He approaches his assignments with the style of a photojournalist in order to capture the true emotions of the day. With action photography, while the moment attracts the attention of the viewer, trying to capture that one memorable shot that encapsulates the colour, emotion and atmosphere, his goal is to hold their attention as well. It is the perfection of the use of light, shadows, background and colour, combined with high-resolution quality that will keep the audience. He approaches each situation with these principals in mind.
David uses professional Canon digital equipment and processes his photographs with Apple Mac technology. This process enables him to create technically superior photographs consistently and promptly. He is passionate about producing unique photographs, which help businesses move forward, raise their profile and create lasting impressions.
